The Zeiss Conquest HD 10×42 is a HD binocular. A bit on the higher end of the spectrum, this is a premium that delivers the worth of the price. Although a bit costlier than usual binoculars, the Conquest has what it takes to be a perfect binocular.
The Conquest comes with some great features like a big focus wheel that’s extremely helpful. Find out more in this Zeiss Conquest HD 10×42 review, and see why it’s on our list of best high quality binoculars.

Technical specifications
Zeiss Conquest HD 10×42 claims to offer the largest field of view in the class. Because of a few ambiguous factors, we can neither support nor deny this claim.
Comfort in the field is important. Whether it’s a forest or a grassland – you need equipment that doesn’t drag you down in order to help you. The well-designed Conquest is a perfect example of the kind of “friction-less” equipment. It’s compact, it’s lightweight, and has an ergonomic design that suits any hand very comfortably.
The eyecups support rotation and locking. People with eyeglasses will have a hassle-free experience of adjusting. Even people who don’t wear eyeglasses can make good use of this feature by adjusting their eye position better for the best shot.
The Zeiss Conquest comes with LotuTec protective coating. This coating is essentially water shedding outer coating. What this does is make the Conquest an all-weather all-environments equipment.
400 mbar water resistance, nitrogen filling for fogless and splash-less viewing, exceptional clarity through the prisms, neutral color reproduction, 90% observation in twilight conditions – what else can you ask for? The Conquest will be a great aid in your hunting sessions, no matter what the conditions are. And at the end of the day, that’s what we all need.
How good are the binoculars?
From the optics point of view, we would say the prisms are quite good. Somewhat beyond expectation, really. They still function the way we expect in low-light though. Now, from the performance point of view, we think the Zeiss Conquest HD 10×42 is perfect.
In our continuous use, we found that the nitrogen-filling wasn’t working as well as we would like. We’re not sure whether it’s just one product or the nitrogen-filling is not efficient enough for all the products.
Besides that, we encountered no problems. The experience was smooth. It’s easy to handle, easy to use, and gives pretty accurate readings. So, if we had to answer in one line, we would say the experience is particularly satisfying with all the different qualities of the Conquest. Our team was very pleased with the nature observation capabilities of the Conquest.
Customer feedback
Most of the ratings are positive. People love classic Zeiss products, and the Conquest is no different. Whether they are talking about the binoculars or some specific performance factor, customers always have appreciation. We have recommended the Conquest many times and the users were never disappointed.
Bird-watchers usually need to spend a lot of time looking. That’s why binoculars are manufactured with the aim of being as less fatiguing as possible. The Conquest does a commendable job at that. Customers have showered praises on top of praises about how it’s so long-duration use friendly.
Wrapping up the Zeiss Conquest HD 10×42 review
For birdwatching (birding) and observing sceneries, there can be no better alternative than the Conquest. It offers high-quality visuals that you can appreciate without fatigue for long hours.
All in all, you can say that the Zeiss Conquest is one of the best products out there but you don’t necessarily have to spend this much for this quality. Yes, there are compensations for the extra bucks you are paying, but still it feels a bit off.
